Phil the radio dog

To my surprise I stumbled upon another early robot dog by Philips, which goes by the name of "Philidog" and is credited to Henri Piraux of Philips France in 1928. The dog was initially build for demonstrating the working of the new photo-electric cells.

Philips Dog

The picture above is a robot dog made by Philips, somewhere around 1958 I guess. It was taken from the book 'PRACTICAL ROBOT CIRCUITS: ELECTRONIC SENSORY ORGANS AND NERVE SYSTEMS' published by A.H.
