Machines of Loving Grace

In addition to the Livable Cities workshop and especially in addition to the story of Eleanor Saitta, this new documentary by Adam Curtis is a must see. It is a series about how computers have not liberated us but distorted and simplified our view of the world around us. It will probably also touch upon some of the issues raised during the Metamorphosis project. Adam Curtis is a very succesfull british documentary maker and writer, my first encounter with his work was the brilliant documentary 'The century of the Self' which examines the rise of the all-consuming self against the backdrop of the Freud dynasty. The new series, which is called 'All Watched over by Machines of Loving Grace' will start on May 23 at 9 pm on BBC 2. Here is the link to Adam's blog, a trailer can be seen on the left side.
